Usually there is no need to replace the endcaps on your tanning unit unless one of them breaks. However, replacing the endcaps is an easy way to give your units a newer, cleaner appearance.
End Cap FAQ's
1. What is an
endcap?
An endcap is the curved or bent piece of metal or plastic (depending on the type of tanning unit you have) at the head and foot end of your tanning unit.
You should have 4 endcaps per tanning unit. (Except in the case of standups or in units that have 2 piece endcaps.)
If your tanning unit uses cylinders to lift the canopy, there is usually a place for cylinder attachment on the
endcap.
2. When should I replace my
endcaps?
Usually there is no need to replace the endcaps on your tanning unit unless one of them breaks.
However, replacing the endcaps is an easy way to give your units a newer, cleaner appearance.
3. What information do I need to order the correct replacement endcaps and endcap accessories?
You will need the make, model, and year of your tanning unit.
Also have a physcial description of the endcap ready. You may have to have the following information ready: bench or canopy, head or foot, color of endcap, any holes or vents, curved or bent, and if bent, how many bends.
When ordering endcap accessories, have the information above as well as a description of the endcap accessory and its particular function.
4. What if they do not make my endcap anymore?
Many manufacturers discontinue plastic or metal body parts for their units after a certain period of time.
In this case, contact our parts department. If we do not have the endcap you need, we will either try to find one, or refer you to another company that may have one in stock.
Be prepared to order a used endcap.
Some companies offer aftermarket endcaps for particular bed models. Most of these endcaps have been made without pre-drilled holes for cylinder attachment, so be prepared to drill your own holes.
In some cases you will not be able to find a replacement endcap. If you have a plastic endcap, some people have tried repair methods such as bondo, fiberglass, and paint. This is only a temporary fix, however. Eventually you may have to replace your tanning unit.
